Plaza de Mayo y la Casa Rosada

Plaza de Mayo y la Casa Rosada     review

Address
Avenida 9 de Julio y Corrientes

The Plaza de Mayo is probably the most significant square of Buenos Aires. The Plaza de Mayo is surrounded by the pinkish Casa Rosada (the Argentine equivalent to the White House), the main cathedral (Cathedral Metropolitana) with the bank-like neoclassical facade, and other important banks and institutions like the Cabildo. The spacious Plaza de Mayo is a frequent location for political protests. On Thursdays at 15.30h the Mothers of the plaza de mayo are still protesting for a full account of Dirty War atrocities
